How to Play

Everything you need to know about Voting Machine

Welcome

Voting Machine is a real-time voting layer for the world. You vote on events that actually matter — national elections, world cup finals, film openings, climate summits, your state’s governor race, your city’s next mayor — and see, live, how humanity voted at every scale.

Coins are your voting currency — free, play-money, zero purchase required. You start with 100,000 Coins. Stronger conviction = bigger stake = more weight in the tally. Get it right, your balance grows. Get it wrong, it shrinks. Simple.

You don't need to be an expert. The best voters follow the news, trust their gut, and know their local ground truth better than any TV panel does.

Getting Started

Scope — Where You Vote

Every event on Voting Machine lives at a specific scope. This is how we fight the two failure modes of every other polling product: either it's too global to feel like yours, or it's too local to matter.

1

Global

World events everyone has a stake in — wars, climate summits, World Cup finals, Olympics, tech launches. Everyone can vote, everyone counts equally.

2

Country

National stories for a specific country — general elections, national cricket, federal policy, national box office.

3

State / Province

State-level politics and stories — gubernatorial races, state assembly elections, regional ballots, local-league sport.

4

City

Hyperlocal — a mayoral election, a council vote, a derby match, a venue closing. If you live there, your vote hits different.

Regional languages are first-class. Votes are written natively in the language you argue in — English, plus growing support for Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and more.

How Events Work

Each event is a question about something real that resolves by a specific date — "Will the incumbent win the 2028 US presidential election?", "Will Bitcoin close above $150k by year end?", "Will the next FIFA World Cup final go to penalties?"

Every event has two or more outcomes. Each outcome shows an odds between 0% and 100% — the live, crowd-weighted probability based on how everyone is voting right now.

The odds always add up to roughly 100% across all outcomes. "70%" means the crowd currently thinks there's about a 70% chance that outcome wins.

Odds update in real time as people vote. More weight on one side pushes that outcome's odds up; people changing their vote pulls it back down. A market-maker keeps the math fair and liquidity smooth.

Casting Your Coin

When you find an event you have an opinion on, here's how to vote:

1

Open the trading panel

Click on any event to see its outcomes and the trading panel.

2

Pick your outcome

Select the outcome you believe will happen. Each outcome shows its current odds (probability).

3

Set your coins

Choose how many coins to spend. The panel shows how many shares you'll receive and your potential payout if correct.

4

Confirm

Hit the vote button. Your shares are added to your portfolio and you can track them on the Portfolio page.

The cost per share increases as more people buy the same outcome. Getting in early on a correct prediction means better returns!

Changing Your Vote

Opinions change as the story develops. You can pull your shares back at any time while the event is still open — useful if the news flips, or you just want to lock in gains before resolution.

How it works

  • Open any event where you hold shares and switch to the Withdraw tab.
  • Choose how many shares to withdraw — all, or just some.
  • The current odds determine what your shares are worth at that moment. If the crowd has moved in your favor since you voted, you come out ahead.
  • Coins go straight back into your wallet — free to redeploy on another event.
Pulling out early is legitimate strategy — if the odds have shifted your way and you don't want to wait for resolution, take your gains and redeploy.

When Events Resolve

Once the real-world event occurs, the market resolves:

1

Voting closes

No more buying or selling once an event reaches its end date.

2

Outcome is verified

Our team verifies the result using reliable, objective sources. The resolution evidence is publicly visible.

3

Payouts happen automatically

If you held shares in the winning outcome, each share pays out at its full face value. If you picked the wrong outcome, those shares become worthless.

You can view the full resolution timeline and evidence for any resolved event on its detail page.

Paid Rooms — creator skill contests

Anyone can host a paid prediction room. Members pay an entry fee in coins, everything goes into one prize pool, and at the competition end date the pool is distributed based on forecasting accuracy:

How the pool splits

  • • 75% → top predictors (Winner takes all, Top 3, or Top 5)
  • • 15% → creator rev-share
  • • 10% → platform fee (Lysensy Inc)

How winners are picked

Ranked by net profit across the room's markets — pure prediction skill, no chance. It's a skill contest, not gambling.
